The Malone University women's basketball team lost its third straight game on Saturday, falling 69-50 to the University of Findlay in Findlay's Croy Gymnasium. With loss, Malone fell to 3-6 on the season and 1-3 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. The host Oilers, who led wire-to-wire, improved to 4-2 on the season and 2-2 in the G-MAC.

After being outscored 28-4 over the final nine minutes in the loss to Hillsdale on Thursday, the Pioneers saw themselves trailing 14-2 in the first six minutes of Saturday's contest before a corner three by
Paiten Strother finally stopped the run. The Pioneers ultimately managed just three first-quarter field goals against one of the G-MAC's top defenses as Findlay led 20-10 after one.

A three-point basket by
Robin Campbell at the 8:02 mark of the second quarter cut the deficit to single digits at 22-15, but Malone made just two shots over the remainder of the period while Findlay extended its lead to 37-20 by halftime.

The Oilers then maintained a double-digit lead throughout the second half on their way to the 69-50 victory.

-Findlay made 28-of-69 (40.6%) field goal attempts, 5-of-17 (29.4%) from three, and 8-of-10 at the free throw line.
-Malone had plenty of open looks but finished just 18-of-59 (30.5%) from the field, 9-of-35 (25.7%) from three, and 5-of-8 on free throws.
-Findlay held a 46-38 advantage in rebounds and converted 13 offensive boards into a 17-5 edge in second-chance points
-The Oilers also totaled 14 steals and converted 19 Malone turnovers into an 18-5 margin in points off turnovers. They outscored the Pioneers 32-18 in the paint, 13-2 in the fast break, and 28-10 off the bench.

Naomi Grandison scored a team-high 16 points, including 11 in the second half, on 6-of-9 shooting and a 4-of-5 performance from three-point range. She also had five rebounds

-Forward Anna Hintz collected a double-double with a game-high 18 points and 10 rebounds to go along with three steals, two assists, and a block.
-Allie Thobe added 10 points, two steals, and two assists.
-Elissa Ellerbrock totaled six points, seven rebounds, a game-high eight assists, and four steals.
