Series History
Along with Malone, both Notre Dame and Seton Hill were former members of the now defunct American Mideast Conference (AMC) in the NAIA before all three began the transition to the NCAA. Malone and Notre Dame have met 37 times in their histories with the Pioneers maintaining a 25-12 all-time advantage, although the Falcons have won each of the last eight. The two teams last met in February of 2012 when now first-year Malone head coach Selana Reale was a collegiate freshman. NDC prevailed 55-45 and Reale had nine points and six rebounds.

The history does not go as deep against Seton Hill. The Pioneers are 5-4 all-time against the Griffins. The two schools last met in the first round of the 2005 AMC Tournament when Seton Hill eliminated Malone from postseason play.

Malone Notes
  • The Pioneers suffered single-digit losses to Wisconsin-Parkside (61-57) and Lake Superior State (62-56) last weekend in the G-MAC/GLIAC crossover. After ranking in the top-20 in DII in made three-pointers per game last season, Malone picked up where its left off, netting 17 threes across the first two games.
  • Freshman guard Robin Campbell was 5-of-10 from three-point range en route to scoring 46 points in the two defeats. Her 27 points against Lake Superior State on Saturday were the most by a Pioneer since Rachel Goddard scored 29 in a G-MAC Semifinal win over Cedarville in 2017.
  • Malone also received solid contributions from senior guard Chrissie Vaughan and Ellen Doyle last weekend. Vaughan scored 16 points and pulled down a team-high 14 rebounds. Doyle totaled 14 points and 10 boards.
  • Senior forward Naomi Grandison, who is nine points shy of 500 for her career, has 10 points on the season and is the only Pioneer with multiple steals.
  • Malone has now started two of the past three seasons 0-2. In 2016-17, the Pioneers began the year 0-3 but went on to win the G-MAC Championship.

Notre Dame Notes
  • The Falcons, members of the Mountain East Conference, secured a pair of victories in a MEC/PSAC crossover last weekend. NDC recorded 24 steals and 33 offensive rebounds while averaging 76 points in the two wins.
  • All-MEC guard Seina Adachi scored over 20 points in both games.
  • The Falcons went 23-9 last season and advanced to the MEC Tournament Championship.

Seton Hill Notes
  • The Griffins (1-1) are members of the PSAC. During a MEC/PSAC crossover last weekend, they split two games while averaging 78.5 points and just 11 turnovers, the 7th-fewest in DII through the opening weekend
  • Fifth-year senior forward Megan Marecic, a Division I transfer from Drexel, and sophomore guard Cheyenne Trust, the 2017-18 PSAC West Freshman of the Year, are both averaging 15 points a game.
  • Seton Hill went 20-10 in 2017-18.
