The Malone University women's basketball team suffered its second loss in as many days, falling to Lake Superior State University in a G-MAC/GLIAC Crossover game, 62-56, Saturday at Walsh.

In just her second collegiate game, freshman guard
Robin Campbell scored a game-high 27 points, the most by a Pioneer since
Rachel Goddard scored 29 in the 2016-17 G-MAC Semifinals against Cedarville. Campbell scored 14 of those points in the first quarter as the Pioneers opened up a 25-19 lead.
LSSU outscored Malone 14-10 to close to within two points at 35-33 headed into halftime. The Lakers pulled away in the second half, holding Malone to just six points in the third quarter. In the fourth, the Lakers extended their lead to as many as 12 points before Malone ran out of time on a comeback effort, falling 62-56.
Campbell finished with 27 points on 10-of-16 shooting (4-of-7 3-pointers) and six rebounds.
Ellen Doyle and
Madison Hunter each added seven points and six rebounds.
As a team, Malone shot just 33.3% (22-of-66) from the field while LSSU shot 45.3% (24-of-53). Malone was 8-of-35 (22.9%) from the three while the Lakers were 8-for-18 (44.4%)
