The Malone University women's soccer team fell in their home opener to Northwood by a score of 3-1. The Pioneer squad took seven shots in the first half, compared to three by Northwood. However, neither team was able to find the back of the net, keeping the scored tied 0-0 going into halftime.
Northwood's Karina Parker broke the 0-0 tie just five minutes into the second half. Ashton Brooks had back-to-back goals for Northwood to extend their lead to 3-0.
The Pioneers were able to get on the board with nine minutes remaining in the game.

Kirsten Hilty in front of the net for the Pioneer goal.
Malone took fourteen shots in the contest, with six of those being shots on goal. Northwood took ten shots, six of which were on goal as well.
The Pioneers will be back in action on Thursday evening at home, as they take on the Walsh Cavaliers. Thursday's game will be the first conference game of the season.
