Malone University's Ashton Dulin earned All-America accolades on Saturday at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field National Championship Meet with a fourth-place finish in the finals of the 400-meter hurdles.

Dulin, from Reynoldsburg, Ohio, broke his own Malone and Great Midwest Athletic Conference record on Saturday after clocking an impressive time of 51.33 seconds. The strong showing marked the second time this week that Dulin improved upon his previous personal best as he won his preliminary heat on Thursday with a mark of 51.79 seconds.

His impressive finish on Saturday concluded a great week for the Pioneers at the National Meet as Dulin and teammate Duke Taylor both earned spots on the All-America podium. Dulin and Taylor combined for 15 points which earned Malone a 13th-place finish in the final men's team standings.

The sophomore, who is also a starting wide receiver on the Pioneer football team, entered the National Championship Meet with the 12th-best 400 hurdles time among Division II student-athletes.  He then turned in the best performance of his collegiate career on Saturday to secure his first All-America honor.

Dulin also competed in the 400 hurdles at the NCAA Division II National Championship Meet as a freshman in 2016, placing 13th overall.

Overall, Pioneer track & field athletes have now received six NCAA First Team All-America Awards since the institution transitioned to Division II membership in 2013 (Taylor has received the distinction three times along with distance runner Ryan Roush and hurdler Emily Fisher).
