The Malone University softball team will begin play in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference softball tournament on Wednesday. The entire tournament will be played at the Athletes in Action Softball Complex in Xenia, Ohio.
The Pioneers will be taking on #1 seeded Cedarville at 5:30pm on Field One in Wednesday's first game. If Malone would lose game one, they would play again on Wednesday at 8:00pm on field one against the loser of Kentucky Wesleyan and Ursuline. If Malone would win game one, the day and time of their second game is to be determined.

- The Malone softball team is making their first postseason appearance since joining NCAA Division II. The team has already won more games in 2017 than they had in 2015 and 2016 combined, as they look to add on to that win total throughout the postseason. The Pioneers' 18 wins this season is the most in a season since winning 23 games in 2002.
- The Pioneer offense is hitting .292 at a team and has an on-base percentage of .353 on the season. The team is leading the G-MAC with 14 triples on the year.
- Anna Myers is second in the conference in on-base percentage with a .493 percentage. Myers is also in the top ten in slugging percentage (.509).
- Freshman pitcher, Isabella Roberts, is second in the conference with three saves on the season. She is holding opponents to a .284 batting average, which is within the ten lowest opponent batting averages in the conference. Roberts has struck out 71 batters this season, which is sixth best in the G-MAC.
- Ashley Beck, who has gotten a hit in the past seven games, is leading the conference with eight homeruns on the season. Beck has a .529 slugging percentage, which is sixth in the conference.
- Madison Corrick, who is atop the leaderboard in triples, is also ranked in the top ten in hits and runs on the season.

- In 2016, Cedarville made it to the conference championship as the #4 seed. The Yellow Jackets eventually fell to #1 seed Trevecca Nazarene in the championship. Cedarville is now entering the 2017 tournament as the #1 seed in hopes to finish of their championship run.
- Cedarville's offense is either first or second in the G-MAC in batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, runs and RBIS. They are third in hits as well.
- Brianne O'Dell leads the conference in batting average (.461), on-base percentage (.494), and slugging percentage (.724). O'Dell is in the top five in hits, runs, RBIs, and doubles in the G-MAC.
- Cedarville's pitching staff has the lowest ERA in the conference (2.84). Opponents are hitting .280 against Cedarville.
- Danielle Wolgamot has an 8-6 record on the season and an ERA of 2.22. Morgan Arbogast has a 13-7 record on the season and an ERA of 2.75.Â
