The Malone University softball team will finish up an 18-game home stand on Wednesday afternoon in a double-header against Lake Erie. Malone has split in five of their seven double-headers at Pioneer Field during the long stretch at home. The Pioneers can tie their 2016 win total with a split today or surpass last season's total with a two-game sweep against The Storm.

- Freshman pitcher, Allyson Gruen, has won her last three outings in the pitching circle. Gruen pitched a 3-0 complete game shutout against Ursuline, went six innings in a victory over Davis & Elkins, and earned a second victory over Davis & Elkins in a 5-4 complete game victory. As a batter, Gruen has raised her batting average from .243 to .333 in the month of April.
- Anna Myers is leading the team in batting average at .373, which is seventh best in the conference. Myers went five for nine from the plate in the Pioneers' last three games.
- Madison Corrick is riding a four-game hitting streak and has been outstanding defensively for the Pioneers in centerfield. Corrick leads all Malone outfielders with 43 putouts and is the only Pioneer fielder without an error on the season.
