The Malone University women's basketball team will go for its 20th win of the season this Tuesday, February 21st when it welcomes Bluefield State College to Osborne Hall for a non-conference matchup. The Pioneers will be in search of their first 20-win regular season since the 2001-02 campaign. Malone went 19-9 in the regular season in 2013-14, but finished with a 21-10 mark after advancing to the GLIAC semi-final. The Pioneers will also look to extend their home winning streak to 10 games and their overall winning streak to eight.

- The Pioneers are coming off of a 3-0 week that included a 77-72 come-from-behind win over Davis & Elkins on Thursday and a 74-65 win over Alderson Broaddus on Saturday.
- Chrissie Vaughan drilled seven three-pointers and poured in 24 points in the win over D&E before Rachel Goddard posted 24 against AB.
- Vaughan's seven threes matched a career-high and her 24 points was one shy of her career mark. On the season, she is averaging 8.0 points a game and has a team-high 52 three-pointers while shooting 37.4% from beyond the arc.
- Goddard's effort on Saturday was her eighth 20-point performance of her career and her third of the season. Two days prior, Goddard scored 10 points and handed out eight assists at D&E. It was the seventh time in her career and the fourth time this season in which she recorded eight or more assists.
- Goddard is averaging 14.8 points and 4.8 assists per game this season. In seven February games, she is shooting 50.7% (35-69) from the field, 46.1% (12-26) from three-point range, and 95.2% (20-21) from the free throw line.
- Over the same time span, senior forward Hannah McCue is averaging a double-double with 13.6 points and 10.1 rebounds a game. On the season McCue, is posting 15.0 points per night and has 10 double-doubles to he rname. She leads the team in blocks (44) and steals (43).
- Junior forward Baylen Dyrlund is second on the team with 30 steals this season. She is averaging 12.8 points and 6.3 rebounds on the year and has scored in double-digits in 15 of the last 17 games.
- The Pioneers' fifth starter Alaina Schwarz has been a key contributor to a Malone defense that enters the week ranked in the top-25 in defensive shooting percentage (35.2) Schwarz scored eight points and distributed a career-high four assists in the win at D&E.
- Malone also ranks among the top-10 in the nation in three-pointers per game (9.0) and top-30 in scoring margin (+13.3 ppg). The Pioneers posted a 37-point victory (83-46) over the Blues in December.
- All 14 players in uniform scored at least two points for Malone in that game who totaled 42 bench points. Naomi Grandison and Sydney Wentling combined for 20 points and four three-pointers in supporting roles.
- Malone amassed a season-high 44 bench points last Tuesday at Salem International. Grandison matched a season-high with 14 points while Mackenzie Storlie, Holly Groff, and Dani Drayer all scored six apiece.
- On Saturday, Malone broke a year-old school record of made three-pointers in one season. The Pioneers surpassed the previous mark of 219 threes and now have 220 through 25 games.

- BSC comes into Monday's matchup having lost four in a row after picking up their only win of the season against Washington Adventist in late January. Most recently, the Blues lost 65-50 last Tuesday to West Virginia Tech.
- Forward Tanasia Blake had an outstanding game, compiling 22 points, 16 rebounds, seven steals, and two blocks. Blake leads the team in scoring (13.8 ppg) and ranks 5th in the nation in both rebounds (12.0 rpg) and steals per game (3.6).
- Blake scored a game-high 21 points and pulled down 15 rebounds against the Pioneers earlier this season.
- Rosalie Pozo (8.8 ppg) added nine points in the loss. She ranks 2nd on the team in scoring and leads the squad with 50 assists.
- As a team, the Blues have struggled offensively, ranking in the bottom 10 in the country in scoring (49.7 ppg). They rank among the bottom-10 in defensive scoring as well, surrendering 82 points per game.
- Bluefield State has played much better defensively as of late, allowing more than 70 points just once in the last seven games.
