The Malone University men's basketball team cruised to a 94-52 non-conference victory over Penn State University DuBois on Tuesday night at Osborne Hall.
The Pioneers knocked down 15 three-pointers in the contest and held a 59-36 edge in total rebounds, including a 22-10 advantage on the offensive glass.
Malone jumped out to a 13-3 lead in the early stages of the game before the Nittany Lions fought back, cutting the deficit to 20-14 on a three-pointer by Jaqueil Washington with a little less than eight minutes to play in the first half. However, the six-point margin was as close as PSU DuBois would get the rest of the way.
A quick 7-0 surge pushed Malone's lead back to double digits. Pioneer guard
Ty Jordan then sank a three-pointer at the halftime buzzer, sending the two teams to the locker room with the hosts in front 46-28.
The Pioneers' lead continued to grow in the final stanza as the hosts pulled away for the convincing victory.
Malone improved to 8-4 overall and 7-2 at home with the win. Penn State DuBois, meanwhile, fell to 5-6 on the season.
