Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Fast Start Powers Pioneers To 97-60 Victory Over Alice Lloyd

The Malone University men's basketball team jumped out to an early 30-7 lead and never looked back on Tuesday evening as the squad rolled to a 97-60 triumph over visiting Alice Lloyd College.

The Pioneers took a 45-29 advantage into the locker room at the break after shooting over 63% from the field and knocking down six of 11 three-pointers over the first 20 minutes.

The Eagles, who entered the contest with a perfect 6-0 record, used an 11-4 scoring run to cut the deficit to 14 at 62-48 midway through the second half.  However, that was as close as Alice Lloyd would get as Malone pulled away over the remainder of the contest for its third consecutive victory.

The Pioneers improved to 4-1 on the season following Tuesday's game while Alice Lloyd, a member of the NAIA, dropped to 6-1 overall.
