The Malone University men's soccer team lost a close game in overtime against rival and former conference opponent, Walsh University. The game remained scoreless for the entire length of regulation.
Four minutes into overtime the 0-0 tie was broken by Walsh's Dan Keller off of the assist from Brandon Denton. The overtime goal, giving Walsh the 1-0 win, was Keller's second goal of the season.
Despite tonight's loss, Malone's defense and goal keeper
Cody Hilty have been tremendous in its first two games of the season, going two full games of regulation unscored upon before giving up their first goal of the season tonight.
The Pioneers are now 1-1 on the season, as they look to get back into the win column on Thursday, September 8
th when they will travel to Alderson Broaddus for their first G-MAC conference game of the season. Thursday's game will begin at 7:30pm.Â
