Volleyball Preview Notes: Hillsdale Home Match Highlights Three Weekend Contests

Cathryn Miller is 16 assists shy of 1500 for her career.

The Malone University volleyball team will look to stop a six-match losing streak this weekend when it meets Hillsdale, West Virginia Wesleyan, and Charleston in three non-conference matches this weekend. The Pioneers will host Hillsdale at home on Friday night before traveling to Charleston for a Saturday tri-match.

Malone Pioneers (3-12): Roster | Schedule | Statistics
  • After a 2-1 start to the season, the Pioneers are 1-11 in their last 12 matches including five straight losses.
  • Malone is coming off a four-set loss to Walsh on Tuesday night in which they hit .309 in the final two sets but allowed Walsh .393 in the decisive set
  • Mallory Adams hit .323 in the match and ranks 6th in the G-MAC with a .250 attacking percentage. Adams leads Malone with 2.79 kills per set
  • Hannah Eliason tied a season high with 10 kills and hit .421 in the loss. She is second on the team with 44 blocks
  • Haley Kool leads Malone with 47 blocks and is third with 93 kills
  • Setter Cathryn Miller set a career-high with five blocks against Walsh. Miller enters the weekend 16 assists shy of 1500 for her career. She also leads Malone with 16 service aces.
  • Defensive specialists Sydney Black, Lynsey Trusty, and Julia Marino have 14 aces apiece.

  • The Chargers defeated Malone in three sets earlier this season and are 5-0 against the Pioneers in the last five seasons.
  • Kara Vyletel leads the team with 3.32 kills per set while Erin Holsinger is 2nd in the GLIAC averaging 1.20 blocks a set.

  • Stacie Baumann leads the attack with 2.42 kills per set while Kirsty Lawrence leads the defense with 4.08 digs per set
