The Malone University volleyball team lost a rivalry match with Walsh University Tuesday night in North Canton, falling in four sets 14-25, 17-25, 25-16, 21-25.

The Pioneers never led in either of the first two sets as they struggled to get things going with the attack early on. After hitting just .068 in the first two sets, Malone hit .269 in the third set and benefitted from 15 Walsh errors as they turned things around to force a fourth set. The Pioneers fared even better offensively with a .345 attacking percentage in the final set, but the errors that plagued Cavaliers in the third set were all but eliminated as the hosts hit .393 in the fourth frame to claim the non-conference win.

Mallory Adams led the Malone attack with 13 kills and a .323 hitting percentage. Freshman right side hitter
Hannah Eliason added 10 kills on a season-high .421 hitting percentage. Setter
Cathryn Miller contributed 29 assists.

Miller led the defense with a career-high five blocks to go along with her six digs.
Lynsey Trusty collected a team-high 12 digs while
Maggie Poorman added six. Eliason and
Haley Kool finished with three blocks apiece.

The Pioneers, now 3-12 on the year, Â will play their next match at home on Friday, September 30th against Hillsdale at 7:00 pm.
