The Malone University volleyball team lost in three sets (22-25, 18-25, 17-25) to an experienced Ashland University team Tuesday night on the road. The loss drops the young Pioneers to 2-6 on the season while Ashland climbs to 6-3 with the win.

Led by senior Casey Clark (11 kills, 11 digs), Ashland outhit Malone .188 to .083 and collected 42 kills in the three-set defeat.

Mallory Adams finished with seven of the Pioneers' 25 kills while
Veronica Gehring and
Faith Lau added six and five kills respectively.
Cathryn Miller totaled 21 assists.

Lynsey Trusty led the Malone defensive effort with 18 digs.
Hannah Eliason and
Haley Kool each provided three blocks in the loss.

The Pioneers will be on the road again this weekend for four matches at the Urbana University Invitational. Malone will open the weekend against Shepherd on Friday, September 16th at 11:00 am before coming back to face Kutztown at 3:00 pm.
