Two days after scoring 79 points while shooting a season-high 54.0% in a win over Tiffin, the Malone University women's basketball team couldn't find a rhythm in a 75-42 loss to Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (GLIAC) opponent Ohio Dominican University Saturday in Osborne Hall.
An early three-pointer by Pioneer freshman
Chrissie Vaughan gave Malone its only lead of the game at 3-2. The Panthers responded with a 15-1 run before closing the first quarter up 21-10.
Layups by
Bri Libertore and
Rachel Goddard would cut the Ohio Dominican lead to nine on two separate occasions early in the second quarter, but the Pioneers would not come within single digits for the remainder of the game.
The Panthers led 40-22 at halftime before securing the 75-42 final. The 42 points for the Pioneers tied a season-low and their 26.9% (14-52) from the floor was their second-worst shooting percentage of the season.
