GameDay Notes: Men's Basketball Goes to Tiffin Thursday, Hosts Ohio Dominican Saturday

Christian Graves is averaging 11.1 points per game for the Pioneers.

The Pioneers will travel to Tiffin University on Thursday, February 11th for an 8:00 p.m. match-up and will welcome Ohio Dominican University to Osborne Hall on Saturday, February 13th for a 3:00 p.m. tip-off.  During halftime of the Malone vs ODU game, we will be honoring the 2016 Malone Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees.

Malone Notes:
-The Pioneers defeated Lake Erie College, 73-68, at home last Thursday, while falling on the road to NCAA DII #25 Ashland University last Saturday, 65-63. Stephen O'Daniel III led the team with 19 points in Malone's win against Lake Erie, while Brian Stone paced Malone with 16 points and nine rebounds against Ashland.
-The defeat against Ashland on Saturday marked the eighth time this season that Malone has lost a game by three points or less.
-Stone is not only ranked first in Division II in field goal percentage (72.1), but he has the best field goal percentage in the NCAA. He also leads the team in points per game, averaging 14.4 and has scored in double digits 14 times this season. He is now ranked fifth on Malone's all-time blocks list with 74.
-Mitchell Spotleson is ranked eighth in the GLIAC in rebounds per game (7.5). He has grabbed 164 total rebounds on the season (39 offensively and 125 defensively), which is also a team high. He is also second in the GLIAC in three-point percentage (44.7%) and 16th in field goal percentage (51.0%). He is ranked second on the team in points per game (12.9).
-Jay Parker is ranked seventh in the GLIAC in assists per game, dishing out 4.3. He has tallied a total of 95 assists on the season.
-As a team, the Pioneers are ranked fifth in the GLIAC in three-point percentage (36.7%), sixth in assists per game (14.5) and seventh in field goal percentage (46.1%).

Tiffin Notes:
Jerry Buccilla is entering his second season as the Dragons' head coach.
-The Dragons are returning eight players from last season's squad.
-Tiffin is on a four game losing streak. The last game they won was at Lake Erie College, 64-63.  
-The Dragons' leading scorer this season is Tony Kynard. He has tallied 341 points, averaging 16.2 per game and is ranked ninth in the GLIAC in points per game.
-Chrisean Marsden is ranked 10th in rebounds per game (7.0), while Jonathan Sutherlin is ranked 13th in the GLIAC in rebounds per game (6.5).
-As a team, the Dragons are currently fourth in the GLIAC in rebounds per game (38.8) and seventh in free-throw percentage (71.4%).

ODU Notes:
-Dan Evans has been at the helm of the Panthers' program for three seasons.
-The Panthers are returning 10 players from last year's team.
-Trent Weaver is ODU's leading scorer, he is averaging 15.8 points per game. He is third in the GLIAC in rebounds per game (9.5) and 12th in points per game (15.8).
-Mike DeLeon is seventh in the GLIAC in field goal percentage, making 58.8% of his shots.
-As a team, the Panthers are ranked sixth in the GLIAC in free throw percentage (73.3%) and eighth in points per game (76.4).
-The Panthers have lost five of their last seven games.

The Pioneers will take on Wayne State University (MI) in Osborne Hall on Thursday, February 18th at 8:00 p.m. and will travel to the University of Findlay on Saturday, February 20th for a 3:00 p.m. match-up.
