Stats
- The Pioneers are coming off an 83-46 road win over Bluefield State on Saturday in which 14 different players scored at least two points. The 83 points was the most in a road game since the 2013-14 season and Malone's 15 steals was the most in a game since the 2012-13 season.
- Malone also pulled down a season-high 47 rebounds in the game, surpassing the 40-rebound mark for the third time in five games this season. The Pioneers recorded 40+ rebounds in only three of their 27 games a year ago.
- Senior Hannah McCue continues to do work on the glass, reaching double-digit rebounds for the third time this season. In addition to her team-leading 14.8 points per game average, McCue leads the Pioneers in steals (11) and blocked shots (7). She ranks 9th in the nation in defensive rebounds per game (9.0).
- Point guard Rachel Goddard ranks 8th in the nation in assists per game (7.0) and leads NCAA DII with a 7.0 assist-to-turnover ratio. Malone's Goddard-run offense ranks 6th in the nation in fewest turnovers.
- Goddard (5), Holly Groff (5), and Mackenzie Storlie (4) combined for 14 of the Pioneers' 25 assists against Bluefield State. The 25 assists were the most since Malone dished out 26 in a 97-84 loss to Ashland this past January.
- Chrissie Vaughan and Naomi Grandison each posted a team-high 14 points in the win over Bluefield State. Vaughan (8.6 ppg) hit two more threes in the game and now has a team-high 11 on the season. Grandison is the only Pioneer (with more than 10 shot attempts) shooting better than 45% from the field this season.
- Baylen Dyrlund, who is the only other Pioneer shooting over 40% (43.4%), ranks third on the team in scoring (12.6 ppg) despite a season-low three points on 1-of-6 shooting on Saturday.
- A win against Salem International on Wednesday would give the Pioneers their first three-game winning streak since February of 2014.
- Malone is 8-3 in its last 11 non-conference home games. The three losses were by a combined six points.
