The Malone University women's soccer season has come to an end after an exciting finish. The Pioneers fell to the #2 team in the conference, Ursuline College,on Thursday night in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament semifinals with a final score of 2-1.
Ursuline got an early 1-0 lead on a goal by Chiara Baker in the second minute of the contest. Baker's goal was assisted by Taylor Dackin.
The Pioneer defense settled in and did not allow another goal throughout the first half. However, the Pioneers failed to get on the board offensively, despite many close opportunities.
Much like the first half, the Arrows found the back of the net early in the second half. Less than a minute into the game Allie Moening extended the Ursuline lead to 2-0. Taylor Dackin had the assist on the play, her second on the evening.

Kaela Kovanda found an open
Kassidy Hannum for a goal, cutting the deficit to 2-1.
Unfortunately, the Pioneers would not score again, and their season has come to an end. Congratulations to the women's soccer team on a great year and a tremendous playoff run.
