Malone (4-20, 1-4 G-MAC) –
Roster |
Schedule |
Stats
- Senior middle hitter Haley Kool will be approaching a career milestone this weekend as she currently sits at 244 total blocks and is 15 shy of the Malone top-10. She already etched her name into the career block assists record book earlier this season and has climbed to 6th all-time. She currently sits at 210 block assists, eight shy of cracking the top-5
- Senior libero Lynsey Trusty, who ranks 2nd in the G-MAC in total digs, is also likely to make her mark in the annals of Malone history. On the year, she is averaging 4.65 digs per set, a figure that would rank 4th in a single season. Trusty's former teammate Katie Hasebein owns the all-time mark of 5.26.
- As Kool and Trusty lead the defense, sophomore outside hitters Veronica Gehring and Mallory Adams have paced the offense, especially as of late. The pair both averaged over 3.30 kills per set at the Midwest Crossover.
- Gehring is hitting .303 with 51 kills across her last four matches while Adams leads Malone with 2.87 k/s and a .222 hitting percentage on the season.
- The Pioneers enter the weekend having lost three matches at the Midwest Crossover two weeks ago. Malone managed to win the first set all three contests, but failed to secure the victory. The trend has pervaded all season as the Pioneers have won the first set in 14 of their 24 matches this season but have just four victories to show for it.
