The Malone University men's soccer team lost 2-1 in double overtime to Alderson Broaddus. This is the second consecutive game that the Pioneers have lost in double-overtime. Before today's game, they had taken Davis & Elkins into double-overtime as well.
 
Ashley Sibisi scored the first goal of today's contest for Alderson Broaddus. Sibisi received a dart pass from Michael Gallardo from the left side before putting in his eighth goal of the season. Sibisi's goal today gives him the most goals on the season for any player in the conference.
 
Alderson Broaddus would retain their 1-0 edge through halftime. Nick Astalos, the senior captain of the Pioneers, scored a clutch goal to tie things back up at one apiece in the 68^th minute. Astalos received a pass from Josh Sample. The ball hit the far post and bounced in the back of the net for the 1-1 tie. Astalos' goal was his fourth on the season.
 
The game would remain tied through the end of regulation and through the first overtime. Peter McMenemy scored the game-winning goal in the second minute of the double-overtime to give the Battlers a 2-1 victory. McMenemy's goal was assisted by Fernando Franco.

Astalos and fellow seniors Kurt Moore and Matt Piccioni were recognized with their families prior to today's match.
