The Malone University volleyball travels to the Great Lakes Center in Aurora, Illinois this weekend to compete in three matches in the Mizuno Midwest Region Volleyball Crossover that pits teams from the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC), Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC), and Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (GLIAC).

Based on seeding entering the weekend, Malone has been paired up with three GLIAC schools including a match with cross-town rivals Walsh University on Friday morning. The Pioneers will also take on Northern Michigan University on Friday evening and Lake Superior State University (MI) on Saturday afternoon.

- The Pioneers captured their first-ever G-MAC win and their first five-set win of the season last Friday over Ohio Valley but fell to Cedarville in straight sets onSaturday
- In the win, sophomore Mallory Adams became the first Pioneer since Lauren Townley in 2011 with 25.0 or more points. She set a career-high with 19 kills in the victory and is 11 shy of 500 for her career. Adams leads Malone and is 8th in the G-MAC with 2.76 kills per set
- Sophomore Veronica Gehring hit a season-high .438 in last Saturday's match with Cedarville. She is 2nd on the squad with 2.14 kills per set
- Senior Haley Kool went over 500 career kill last weekend and is averaging 1.67 k/s. She recorded a season-high 10 blocks against OVU and leads Malone with 72 total blocks
- Senior Lynsey Trusty has asserted herself as one the best liberos in the conference, ranking third in G-MAC play with 4.91 digs per set. She set a career-high with 33 digs last Friday against OVU and leads the Pioneers with 22 service aces. Trusty is currently 16th in the nation with 374 total digs.
- Malone enters the Crossover ranked 4th among the five competing G-MAC teams. Despite the poor record, the Pioneers have won the first set in 11 of their 21 matches. They are, however, just 1-5 in five-set matches
- In their most recent matches with this weekend's opponents, the Pioneers lost to Walsh in four sets earlier this season, lost to Northern Michigan in four sets last season, and defeated Lake Superior State 3-0 also last season
