th for a 3:00 p.m. contest.

Malone Notes:-Malone traveled to the Upper Peninsula last week and fell 72-86 to Michigan Tech University on Thursday and suffered a heartbreaking 68-67 loss to Northern Michigan University on Saturday.
-At Michigan Tech,
Christian Graves finished with a game-high 24 points and nine rebounds and
Jay Parker came off the bench to score a season-high 22 points.
-Both Malone and Michigan Tech shot exactly 50% from three-point range (MU 11-of-22; MT 12-of-24). The Pioneers held a 26-9 edge in bench points.
-At Northern Michigan,
Stephen O'Daniel III finished with a season-high 17 points. In addition, Malone enjoyed a 19-6 advantage in points off turnovers and an 11-3 edge in second-chance points. The contest featured three ties and nine lead changes.
-Graves is currently sixth in the GLIAC in three-point percentage (51.1) and is 13
th in points per game, averaging 16.3.
-Forward
Mitchell Spotleson is eighth in the GLIAC in rebounds per game, averaging 8.0 and is sixth in total rebounds (48).
-As a team, the Pioneers are ranked fourth in the GLIAC in three-point percentage, making 39.9% of their three-pointers and they are eighth in total rebounds, averaging 37.6 per game.
Lake Superior State Notes:-Steve Hettinga enters his eighth season as the Lakers' head men's basketball coach and has compiled a 117-85 record.
-LSS lost 87-82 to Ferris State University (MI) last season in the GLIAC Tournament Championship Title Game. Also, last season, the Lakers faced Ferris State again in the NCAA Division II Tournament and beat the Bulldogs 78-69 in overtime at the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional. However, Lake Superior State's season came to an end at Bellarmine University (KY) as the Knights defeated the Lakers 85-59 in the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Semifinal.Â
-The only loss that the Lakers have had this season was at the then NCAA DII #8 University of Indianapolis, 93-75, on November 21
st. Since then, they have gone on a three-game winning streak.
-11 players are returning from last season's squad.
-Senior Devin Daly is leading the team in points, averaging 24.8 per game. He is also leading the GLIAC in points per game (24.8), is tied for second in rebounds per game, averaging 10.0, and is eighth in field goal percentage (63.5). On Monday, Daly was picked as the GLIAC Men's Basketball North Division Player of the Week after helping his team go 2-0 on the weekend and for averaging 26.5 points per game. In addition, he shot 66.7% from the field, went 4-of-9 from the three-point line, and sank 13 of his 15 free throws. In addition, Daly also earned USBWA National Player of the Week Honors for his performance last week.
-Sophomore Akaemji Williams is first in the GLIAC in steals per game, averaging 3.2, and is fifth in the nation (NCAA Division II) in steals per game (3.2).
-Sophomore Michael Nicholson is first in the GLIAC in field goal percentage (71.9).
-As a team, the Lakers are first in the GLIAC in steals per game (9.0), second in blocks per game (4.8) and third in free throw percentage (78.3). In addition, they are ranked 13
th in the nation (NCAA Division II) in free-throw percentage (78.3) and 14
th in the nation, in fewest turnovers (65).
-Lake Superior State was picked to finish third in the GLIAC North Division preseason poll.Â
Northwood Notes:-Jeff Rekeweg is entering his sixth season as the Timberwolves' head men's basketball coach. He has compiled a 74-68 record at Northwood. Â
-Last season, the Timberwolves lost 78-65 at Lake Superior State University (MI) in the GLIAC Tournament Quarterfinals. Â
-11 players are returning from last year's squad. Senior Maurice Jones is leading the team in points, averaging 21.1 per game. He is ranked first in the GLIAC in assists per game (8.0) and fourth in points per game. He is currently fourth in the nation (NCAA Division II) in assists per game (8.0).
-Freshmen Zach Allread is ninth in the GLIAC in field goal percentage (62.2).
-Jermaine Myers is 11
th in the GLIAC in three-point percentage, making 48.6% of his shots. Â
