Forward Mitchell Spotleson currently leads the GLIAC in rebounding with 11.5 boards per game

The Pioneer men's basketball team will host its home opener on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. against Ohio Christian University.

The Pioneers are 2-0 all-time against Trailblazers.  The two squads last met in November of 2013 as Malone prevailed over OCU at Osborne Hall by a final score of 104-64.
 
Malone Notes:
-The Pioneers are off to their first 2-0 start since the 2012-13 season after claiming a pair of victories at Cedarville University's Don Callan Classic on Nov. 13-14
-Malone's only contest last week was a 62-46 exhibition loss at NCAA Division I Cleveland State University on Tuesday
-In the game at CSU, the Pioneers held a 23-22 halftime lead but then managed to hit just eight of their 28 field goal attempts (28.6%) over the final 20 minutes
-Forward Mitchell Spotleson posted 11 points and seven rebounds vs. the Vikings
-Guard Nate Sheppard added 11 points and six boards off the bench in the match-up with CSU
-Malone is shooting a sizzling 50.7% from the field and 41.1% from three-point range through its first two games, but has struggled at the foul line early on, hitting just 18 of its first 33 (54.5%) free throws
-Center Brian Stone notched a career-high 26 points in Malone's season-opening victory over Davis & Elkins College
-Spotleson has posted double-doubles in each of the Pioneers' first two games…He is currently averaging 14.5 points and leads the GLIAC with 11.5 rebounds per contest
- Sheppard has provided a lift off the bench, currently averaging 17.0 points per outing
-After missing almost the entire 2014-15 campaign due to injury, guard Christian Graves has averaged 12.5 points in his first two games back in the line-up while knocking down 7 of 12 (58.3%) three-pointers

-The Trailblazers earned a fifth-place finish at the NCCAA (National Christian College Athletic Association) National Tournament last season
-Ohio Christian is in its first year of membership in the NAIA's Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
-The Trailblazers are 2-1 this season against nationally-ranked NAIA opponents
-OCU knocked off #7 Union College 75-74 in its season opener on November 3rd; Less than a week later the Trailblazers defeated #21 Robert Morris University in three overtimes by a final tally of 84-82
-Robert Morris evened the season series 1-1 after handing OCU its only loss of the year 87-82 on November 18th
-Former Ohio State University standout Tony Stockman serves as OCU's head coach
-The Trailblazers are shooting just over 40% from three-point range this year
-Guard Marquis Jackson ranks eighth in NAIA Division II with an average of 26.1 points per game
-Guard Evin Bartlett has tallied 12.9 points per outing and ranks second in NAIA Division II with 7.4 assists per game
-Forward Gary Hoover has notched 8.9 points and a team-high 8.9 rebounds per outing
