The Pioneer women's basketball team will travel to West Virginia on Tuesday, November 17th for a 5:30 pm match-up against the University of Charleston. This will be the second meeting between the two schools, as Charleston defeated Malone 50-47 in Osborne Hall last season.

Charleston was held scoreless over the final five minutes of the contest, but still managed to hang on for the three-point win at Osborne Hall.  Guard Selana Reale (who has since graduated) paced Malone with 15 points while guard Rachel Goddard tossed in 13.
 
Malone Notes:
-The Pioneers started their season with an 80-66 non-conference home win over the University of Indianapolis
-Sophomore Alahna Singleton came off the bench to set a career-high with 22 points, while going a perfect 5-for-5 behind the three-point line
-Malone shot 51.7% from the three-point line (15-for-29), while shooting 75% from the free throw line (21-for-28)
-Saturday's victory earned head coach Ryan Bailey his first win as the Pioneers' head coach
-Prior to becoming Malone's head coach, Bailey served for three years as an assistant coach at Charleston
-Malone is returning 10 players from last year's squad.
-Goddard, an All-GLIAC Second Team recipient, led the 2014-15 team in points (12.8 ppg), scoring (332), three-pointers made (40), assists (52), steals (24), and blocks (9).
-Goddard posted 15 points and five assists in the season opener
-Guard Audrey Myers added 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting from long range while also grabbing six boards
-Guard Chrissie Vaughan netted 11 points in her Pioneer debut
-Malone was picked to finish 7^th in the GLIAC South Division Preseason Poll

Charleston Notes:
-Charleston women's basketball head coach Adam Collins enters his fourth season at the helm of the program. He led his squad to a 22-7 record last year
-Charleston lost 65-55 in the Mountain East Conference Quarterfinals last season to Notre Dame College
-Senior Nichole Perry led the Golden Eagles in points per game (13.7), points (396), steals (31), assists (82) and assists per game (2.8) last season. In addition, she was named to the Capital One Academic All-America Team, the All-Mountain East Conference First-Team and the Mountain East Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year
-The Golden Eagles opened the year with a 82-66 loss to Edinboro University of Pennsylvania but then bounced back with a 78-65 triumph over Clarion University
-Through two games, Charleston is shooting 43.5% from the field, but just 25.6% from beyond the three-point arc
-The Golden Eagles have forced an average of 16 turnovers through their first two games but have also been out-rebounded by a combined total of 75-58
-Guard Chyress Lockhart is averaging 22.5 points and five assists per outing
-Forward Monet Sanders has tossed in 17.5 points per contest to go with 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks
-Charleston was picked second in the MEC Preseason Poll
