The Malone University women's soccer team lost a heartbreaking overtime match on the road to Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opponent Lake Erie College, 1-0, Sunday night.
Neither team was able to convert a goal in regulation and therefore the match headed into overtime. This was the first overtime contest for the Pioneers this season, while it was the second for the Storm.
The Storm wouldn't waste any time in the extra frame as Marlena Lesniowski put one in the net less than four minutes into the period to seal the victory.
Both teams had five shots on goal, while the Storm had the advantage in shots, shooting 17 to Malone's 11.

Kari Naylor notched four saves on the night.
The Pioneers, 1-6 overall and 0-4 in the conference, will continue on the road as they head to GLIAC opponent and NCAA Division II #4 Grand Valley State University (MI) on Friday October 3
