Timberwolves Top Pioneers in GLIAC Action

The Malone University men's soccer team lost at home to Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) opponent Northwood University (MI) on Friday night, 3-1.
 
It was a battle in the first half between both teams as Northwood would be the first to score in the 34th minute, taking an early 1-0 lead. The score remained 1-0 at the half.
 
The Timberwolves came out and added to their advantage within 10 minutes of the second half to make it a 2-0 lead.
 
In the 74th minute, freshmen Brock Venman tallied his first career goal with an assist from Ryan Brumbaugh, cutting the deficit to 2-1.
 
With five minutes left in the second half, the Timberwolves would go on to score once again, putting the match out of reach.
 
Malone goalie Jon Crabbs tied his season high 11 saves on the afternoon.

The Pioneers, now 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the GLIAC, will return to action on Sunday as they continue conference play by hosting NCAA Division II #2 Saginaw Valley State University (MI) at 1 p.m. You can watch the stats here: http://www.sidearmstats.com/malone/msoc/
