The Malone University volleyball team dropped its Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener at Ohio Dominican University in three sets on Friday evening.

The host Panthers claimed the match by scores of 19-25, 23-25 and 11-25 to improve to 2-4 overall and 1-0 in the conference., With the defeat, the Pioneers slipped to 2-4 on the season and 0-1 in GLIAC competition.

Outside hitters Taylor Slauterbeck and Shelbi Meek each notched five kills to pace the Pioneer attack., Outside hitter Sarah Brent posted four kills., Setter Jordan Sollars tallied 13 assists and 10 digs while libero Katie Hasebein piled up 18 digs.
