Box Score 
The Malone University volleyball team lost a three-set contest at home to NCAA Division II #19 Grand Valley State University (MI) Friday night by the score of 25-14, 25-13, 23-21.  The GLIAC loss was the Pioneers' first on the season as the squad fell to 7-4 overall and to 2-1 in conference play on the season.  GVSU improved to 9-2 overall and to 3-0 in the GLIAC with the victory.
The visiting Lakers held a 40-27 advantage in kills over the Pioneers while also holding the edge in digs 59-48. The visitors also tallied three service aces in the three-set affair while Malone was not able to pocket an ace.

Elizabeth Maczuzak drilled a team-best eight kills on the night while middle hitter 
Lauren Townley blasted five kills.  Outside hitters

Taylor Slauterbeck tallied four kills each.  Pioneer setter 
Kimberly McCracken tossed up 25 assists for the team and also had 12 digs in the contest.  Defensive specialist and libero 
Katie Hasebein pocketed the most digs on the night for Malone with 14.
