The Malone University volleyball team made it two GLIAC victories in a row in as many conference matches played this season as the Pioneers posted a 25-22, 19-25, 25-23, 25-23 victory over Tiffin University in Malone's Osborne Hall Saturday afternoon.
With the victory, Malone improved to 7-3 overall (2-0 GLIAC) while the previously undefeated Dragons fell to 5-1 overall and to 1-1 in GLIAC play.
The Pioneers held a slight 49 to 47 advantage in kills and a 45 to 39 edge in assists on the day. Service aces went in favor of Tiffin by a slight six to four margin.
Outside hitters
Elizabeth Maczuzak and
Taylor Slauterbeck fueled the Pioneer offense with 12 kills apiece while middle hitter
Lauren Townley was right behind with 11 kills. Slauterbeck also added 10 digs in the contest. Setter
Kimberly McCracken tossed up 29 assists in the match and added 11 digs and a team-high three service aces. In addition,
Katie Hasebein paced the squad in digs with 18.
