The Malone University women's soccer team (4-11-1, 1-10 GLIAC) threatened the Michigan Tech Huskies (11-4-1, 8-2-1 GLIAC) but watched as its comeback bid fell short in a 3-1 home loss.

Ally Smith's corner kick to pull the home side within one with 27 minutes to go, but Haley Crites' goal in the 77th minute put a damper on the Pioneers' comeback attempt.
The Huskies outshot Malone 24-6 for the game, holding a 12-3 edge in shots on goal and 6-3 advantage in corner kicks. Sophomore
Staci Hackett made nine saves in net for Malone, while Smith led the Pioneers with two shots.
