Box Score
The Malone University men's soccer team (2-7, 1-6 GLIAC) allowed four second-half goals to the University of Findlay Oilers in a 6-1 road defeat on Sunday.
The Oilers started strong, scoring two goals in the game's first 25 minutes. Malone freshman
Kurt Moore responded with a huge goal a minute before the half to pull Malone within one at the break. However, an own goal in the 61st minute took the wind out of the Pioneers' sail. The Oilers (3-6-1 overall, 1-6 GLIAC) would tack on three more goals in a three-minute stretch to make the score 6-1 and send the Pioneers back to Canton frustrated.
Senior
Josh Abend continues to enjoy a standout senior season, recording an assist on Moore's goal. The score line was not indicative of how close the game was. Findlay only outshot Malone 11-9 but scored on six of its seven shots that were on target. Corner kicks were dead even at two apiece. Abend, Moore and senior
Kelvin Aquino led Malone with two shots each.
Malone will host GLIAC leading Saginaw Valley State (MI) University on Friday, October 11th, at 3:30 p.m. The Cardinals won the first meeting between the schools 6-0 earlier this year. Live stats will be provided during the contest at
