The Malone University volleyball team fell on the road in its Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match at Hillsdale (MI) College Friday evening. The Pioneers dropped the first two sets of the night by scores of 25-14 and 25-20. Malone fought back to take the third frame 25-23 before the host Chargers put the contest away with a 25-11 triumph in set four.
The Pioneers' record slipped to 7-7 overall and 2-4 in conference play following their fourth straight loss. Hillsdale, meanwhile, improved to 6-8 overall and 3-3 in the GLIAC.
Malone racked up a season-high 25 blocks (one solo, 24 assists) during Friday's contest but was unable to keep pace with the Charger attack. Hillsdale held a 67-36 edge in kills and posted a .264 attack percentage compared to a .116 mark for the Pioneers.

Taylor Slauterbeck led the way for Malone with 11 kills. Middle hitter
