Brazilian duo Rubem Miranda and Kelvin Aquino teamed up for the game's lone goal as the Malone University men's soccer team (3-4, 3-3 GLIAC) invaded Tiffin University (2-4-2, 1-4-1 GLIAC) on Friday afternoon and came away 1-0 winners.

In the 21st minute, Miranda controlled a cross from Aquino and banged a shot into the upper 90 for his fourth goal of the year, to give Malone a lead that would hold up the entire night. Junior goalkeeper Felipe Monteiro made three pivotal saves in the game's final five minutes to salt away the win, earning his second shutout of the season and second in as many games in the process.

Malone outshot Tiffin 22-20 and 13-10 in shots and goal. The Pioneers will look to keep the momentum rolling on Sunday when they return to Pioneer Field to play the University of Findlay at 3:30 pm.
