Competing at the #24 NCAA Div. II team in the nation on Saturday, the Malone University volleyball team came up short against Ferris State University (MI) in three sets by the score of 19-25, 20-25, 14-25. With the loss, the Pioneers fell to 6-4 overall and to 2-2 in the GLIAC while the hosts improved to 9-3 overall and to 3-1 in GLIAC play.

Lauren Townley paced the squad in kills with nine on the night while also adding one service ace and one block assist. Middle hitter
Diana Wallace followed with eight kills but also pocketed a service ace, two digs and a pair of block assists.
Outside hitter
Anna Hays chipped in with six kills and two digs while setter
Jackie Schwamberger tossed up 19 assists on the match to go along with four kills and four digs. Outsider hitter
Kimberly McCracken paced the team in digs with nine while defensive specialist
Allison Kirby and outside hitter
Taylor Slauterbeck each tallied five digs in the match.
Anne Sutton led the Ferris State offense with nine kills while Brandie Merren posted a whopping 22 digs for her team.
Malone will be back on its own court next Tuesday when the Pioneers host local rival and now fellow GLIAC foe Walsh University (3-6, 1-3 GLIAC) in a 7:00 p.m. contest.
