Malone and Canton Marathon To Co-Host "An Evening with Coach Jack Hazen" On May 23rd

Pioneer cross country head coach Jack Hazen, who will coach the men's distance runners for Team USA at the 2012 Olympic Games, will be featured during a special event on Malone's campus on May 23rd

Malone University and the Canton Marathon are collaborating to present An Evening with Coach Jack Hazen, Wednesday, May 23 from 6:30 – 8 p.m. in the Johnson Center main auditorium, located at 2600 Cleveland Avenue N.W. in Canton. The event is free and open to the public.

Legendary Coach Jack Hazen – renown for never having lost a conference title in a consecutive 45 years as Malone's cross country coach – will coach the long distance runners in the Games of the XXX Olympiad as a member of the Team USA Track and Field coaching staff. Hazen has recently returned from the West Coast, where he met with some of the world's best runners in preparation for the summer games, scheduled to take place in London July 27- August 12. Always the storyteller, "Coach" will present a preview of what and who to watch, as well as sharing the latest in technique and technology in long distance running.

The evening will also include a panel discussion with runners who have qualified for Olympic trials – as well as prizes and surprises.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
