Pioneer Track & Field Teams Conclude Season At Ashland Alumni Meet

Freshman Madison Schuler was among four Malone women's student-athletes to earn a "top-five" finish at the Ashland University Alumni meet on Saturday. Schuler pocketed an impressive runner-up finish in the 5000 meters in a time of 18:15.68.


Results

The Malone University men's and women's track & field teams competed at the Ashland University Alumni Meet on Saturday with a number of Pioneers earning impressive “top-five” finishes at the non-scoring event. For the women's team, four student-athletes broke into the top five in their events while the men had one competitor earn a top-five mark.

For the Pioneer women, Tina Oprean led the way in the 1500 meters with a third-place time of 4:46.46 among 16 entrants. Mattison Rankin also earned a top-five placement in the race by finishing fifth in 4:50.01.

Madison Schuler paced a four-Pioneer contingent in the 5000 meters and earned a runner-up finish among 19 runners in a time of 18:15.68.

Courtney Armsey represented Malone in the 100-meter hurdles, posting a third-place time of 15.33 seconds.

For the Malone men, Matt McConnell was the lone “top-five” finisher as he paced four Pioneer runners in the 5000-meter event, crossing the finish line in fifth place, among 21 entrants, in a time of 15:23.60.

This meet marked the conclusion of the Pioneer track & field teams' season.
