The Malone University volleyball team got back on the winning track Saturday afternoon in Malone's Osborne Hall with a solid 3-0 victory over visiting Michigan Tech University. Having lost their previous three contests to the typical outstanding GLIAC competition, the Pioneers mustered a convincing 25-19, 25-18, 25-16 win over the Huskies, another worthy GLIAC foe.
With the victory, Malone improved to 8-7 overall and to 4-5 in GLIAC play while Michigan Tech dropped to 5-12 and 2-7 in the GLIAC.

Anna Hays fueled the Pioneer offensive attack with a team-best nine kills each as setter
Jackie Schwamberger tossed up 30 assists on the day. While Haver also contributed one service ace, she also had a big day defensively as she tallied three solo blocks, three block assists and three digs. Hays pocketed one block assist and two digs. In addition to her 30 assists, Schwamberger also racked up five kills, eight digs and two service aces.
Outside hitter
Taylor Slauterbeck pounded down eight kills and also had five digs and an ace while right side hitter
Diana Wallace nailed seven kills and posted two block assists and two digs. Wallace also posted a team-high three aces. In addition, defensive specialist
Katie Hasebein scooped up a team-best nine digs in the match while also contributing a pair of aces to the Pioneer cause.
Michigan Tech was paced by Aubrey Havlicheck who drilled a team-high nine kills. Teammate Tessa Mauer tallied a team-best eight digs while setter Madeline Haben tossed up 24 assists in the match.
Malone will look to make it two wins in a row when the squad competes at Notre Dame College (OH) (4-14) on Tuesday (Oct. 9) in a 7:00 p.m. match.
