The Malone University women's soccer team (1-13-1, 0-7-1 GLIAC) was shutout at Michigan Tech Friday night, falling to the Huskies by a count of 3-0.

Michigan Tech's Janelle Riedl opened the scoring in the 35th minute, but the Huskies (12-3-1, 10-1-1) would not be able to solve the Malone defense and goalkeeper Angie Nutial again until a 65th minute goal from Lexi Herrewig. Rachel Hook would add an insurance goal with only a minute to play in regulation to push the final deficit to three.

Michigan Tech outshot Malone 31-4 for the game. Three of the four Malone attempts at goal found their way on target compared to 13 of 31 for Michigan Tech. Nutial was busy all evening, finishing with 10 saves. The Pioneers will wrap up their season Sunday with a game at Northern Michigan at 12:00 p.m.
