The Malone University men's soccer (6-7-1, 6-5-1 GLIAC) team's last regular season game will determine if they are allowed to compete in the NCCAA Tournament after losing on the road to Ohio Dominican 3-1 on Friday night. A Malone win on Sunday against Lake Erie College punches their ticket to the NCCAA tournament, but anything less will result in them falling just short. The Pioneers had a chance to clinch tonight with a win but were downed by a pair of late Panther goals.
Ohio Dominican (11-4-1, 9-3 GLIAC) drew first blood in the 7th minute when Casey Weddle converted a penalty kick to give the Panthers a 1-0 advantage. Junior
Kelvin Aquino would net his 2nd goal in as many games and 3rd on the season just 14 seconds before halftime to send the teams into intermission deadlocked at one. Junior

Ohio Dominican would up the pressure in the second half but could not find the net until Bret Wahle beat Pioneer goalkeeper
Felipe Monteiro with a strike from the top of the 18-yard box in the 78th minute. Justin Wheeler would cement the game in the 84th minute scoring a tap-in goal off a cross from Wahle.
Ohio Dominican outshot Malone 26-10 and 9-5 in shots on goal. Freshman
Sam Tonelli led Malone with three shots and two shots on goal. Monteiro made six saves in a losing effort while his counterpart Macklin Robinson made four. Malone wraps up its regular season on Sunday in a must-win situation at Lake Erie College. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
