A couple of backbreaking first-half goals put the Malone University women's soccer team in a hole they could not recover from Friday afternoon, losing a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match to the University of Findlay 4-0.
The Oilers (6-6-1, 6-3-1 GLIAC) broke a scoreless tie in the 15th minute when a cross was deflected off of the back of a defender and into the goal. Malone (1-11-1, 0-9-1 GLIAC) would hold off Findlay for the rest of the half until Emily Beddoes gathered a long pass and beat Malone keeper
Angie Nutial with only six seconds remaining in the half. Megan Galloway and Beddoes would add second half goals to bring the final score to 4-0.
The Oilers held a 27-4 advantage in shots, an 11-2 advantage in shots on goal and a 14-2 edge in corner kicks. Nutial made five saves in defeat. Junior

Malone will look to rebound at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday when it hosts Tiffin University in its final home match of the season .
