Box Score

The Malone University women's soccer team lost a 1-0 contest at NCAA Div. II West Virginia Wesleyan College on Saturday afternoon. The setback was Malone's second in as many games so far this season, and by the exact same score. While the Pioneers dropped to 0-2 on the season, the Bobcats improved to 3-0 on the year.

The lone goal of the contest came just 14 minutes into the game as the host's Rachel Ritchey collected a goal off an assist from Amber Wozny. The scored remained at 1-0 at intermission and then neither team could pierce the nets in the final half, making the final score 1-0 in favor of the Bobcats.

WVWC held an 8-5 edge in total shots and also posted a 4-1 advantage in corner kicks. Pioneer goalkeeper Angie Nutial pocketed two saves while the Bobcat goalie notched four saves.

Malone (0-2) will next compete at Mt. Vernon Nazarene University (1-2-1) on Thursday at 5:00 p.m.
