The Malone University women's basketball team lost to NAIA Div. II #25 Notre Dame (OH) College 89-48 on the Falcons' home court Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers stayed closed until midway through the first half, trailing 17-12, before the hosts pulled away to lead 46-17 at the half. The Falcons extended their lead in the second stanza to post the 89-48 win. With the loss, Malone dropped to 5-12 overall and 1-3 in the American Mideast Conference while Notre Dame improved to 14-4 overall and 5-0 in the AMC.
Malone was held to just 35.6% shooting from the field (16-45) while Notre Dame drilled 57.1% of its attempts (36-63). The Falcons held a huge advantage in three-pointers made, sinking 12 of 26 for 46.2%, while the Pioneers managed just one conversion in seven attempts for 14.3%. Free throw percentage was identical at 83.3% for each team but Malone sank 15 of 18 free throw attempts while Notre Dame only attempted six, making five. Malone held a slight edge in rebounds at 30-26 while Notre Dame led in both assists (25-7) and in steals (14-6).
Senior guard
Allyson Wilson was the lone Pioneer in twin figure scoring as she posted 13 points on the day, including a 7-of-8 effort at the foul line. Wilson also tossed in a game-high eight rebounds, tied with teammate and senior forward
Alison Schloz, who also chipped in eight points. Senior guard
Amy Kittle also contributed eight points on the day for the Pioneers. Wilson and freshman forward

Chelsie Burden paced the squad in steals with three.
Notre Dame was led in scoring by Yvette Hunter who tossed in 19 points while Kealy McNally, who had 14 points, paced the team in rebounds with four.
