NCAA Division II Tiffin Rallies For Five-Set Win Over Pioneers

The Malone University volleyball team suffered a narrow loss at home to NCAA Division II Tiffin University on Wednesday evening as the Dragons fought back from a two sets to one deficit to claim a 23-25, 25-16, 16-25, 25-19, 15-13 victory. The non-conference loss dropped the Pioneers' overall record to 19-3 while Tiffin improved to 7-5.

Outside hitter Jennifer Gahagan led the way for Malone with 14 kills, 14 digs and three block assists. Middle hitterLauren Townley followed with 13 kills and four blocks (one solo). Outside hitter Lori Gale added 11 kills, five aces and 10 digs while middle hitter Hannah Haver also posted 11 kills. Other contributors included right-side hitter Emily Beiting with season-high totals of nine kills and 24 digs, setter Jackie Schwamberger with 49 assists and 10 digs, and libero Allison Kirby with 14 digs.

The Pioneers will be back in action on Friday as the squad travels to Amherst, New York for a 7:00 p.m. American Mideast Conference match against Daemen College.
