The Malone University volleyball team, ranked 23rd in the most recent NAIA National Poll, opened American Mideast Conference play on the road Tuesday night with a 25-9, 25-16, 25-23 win at Ursuline College. With the straight-set victory over the Arrows, the Pioneers improved their record to 17-1 overall and 1-0 in the AMC while the Arrows dropped to 7-9 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

Jennifer Gahagan led the way for the Pioneers with 15 kills and four blocks (two solo). Middle hitter
Hannah Haver followed with 10 kills while setter
Jackie Schwamberger added four kills, two aces, five digs and 21 assists. Other contributors included right-side hitter
Emily Beiting with two aces and outside hitter
Lori Gale with seven digs.
Malone will return to action at home on Friday evening with a 7:00 p.m. AMC match against Houghton (NY) College (6-7 overall, 0-0 AMC). Fans that cannot be in attendance at Osborne Hall on Friday can catch the action live on-line with a free video stream:
