The Malone University volleyball team notched a 25-21, 25-20, 25-16 victory at home on Thursday evening in an American Mideast Conference match against Point Park (PA) University. Prior to the start of their final regular-season contest at Osborne Hall, Pioneer seniors

Jennifer Gahagan,
Lori Gale, and
Tabitha Streby were recognized for their outstanding careers. Malone improved to27-5 overall and 6-1 in the AMC with the three-set win while Point Park dropped 23-9 overall and 2-3 in the conference.
Middle hitter
Lauren Townley led the way for the Pioneers by a tallying a match-high 13 kills. Gahagan followed with nine kills and 11 digs. Gale posted seven kills, two aces, 10 digs and three blocks (two solo). Middle hitter
Hannah Haver also registered seven kills to go with 10 digs. Other contributors included Beiting with 14 digs, right-side hitter

Malone will now be idle until next Saturday (Oct. 30) when the squad travels to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to compete in an AMC tri-match hosted by Carlow University. The Pioneers will open the day with a 1:00 p.m. contest against Cedarville University before taking on the host Celtics at 3:00 p.m.
Postseason Picture: The top five finishers in the final AMC regular-season standings will qualify for the AMC Postseason Tournament that will be held November 12-13. The winner of this event will then receive the conference's lone automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament.
With three AMC matches remaining on its schedule ( Oct. 30 vs. Cedarville, Oct. 30 at Carlow, and Nov.2 at Mt. Vernon Nazarene University), the Pioneers are currently in third place in the conference standings with a 6-1 mark, one game behind Walsh University and Mt. Vernon Nazarene who are tied for first place with 7-0 records.
