The Malone University men's soccer team fell 3-1 in an American Mideast Conference road match against rival Walsh University on Tuesday evening. The Cavaliers held a 1-0 lead at intermission and then tacked on a second goal just two minutes into second stanza. Pioneer midfielder
Felipe Delgado tapped in a rebound in the 67th minute to cut the deficit in half but Malone was unable to complete the comeback as Walsh added an unassisted goal in the final moments to cement the 3-1 victory. The Pioneers' record dropped to 5-11-0 overall and 2-5-0 in the AMC with the loss while Walsh kept its postseason hopes alive, improving to 8-7-0 overall and 3-3-0 in the conference.
Matt Bly put Walsh on top 1-0 in the 35th minute, scoring off a pass from Jordan Semple. Bly and Semple then teamed up to assist Clink Merck on what turned out to be the game-winning goal in the 47th minute.
The Cavaliers held a 12-6 advantage in total shots on goal in the match. Malone keepers

The Pioneers will now be idle for the remainder of the week and will return to action next Monday with a 4:00 p.m. non-conference match on the road against Shawnee State University.
