The Malone University men's soccer team dropped an American Mideast Conference match at home to Houghton (NY) College on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 4-0.  The Highlanders took control of the contest by scoring three times over a five-minute span early in the first half. Goals in the eighth, ninth and 13th minutes gave Houghton its commanding 3-0 lead and the visitors then tacked on another score 20 minutes into the second period to account for the 4-0 final. The Pioneers' record dropped to 5-10-0 overall and 2-4-0 in the AMC with the defeat while the Highlanders improved to 10-5-0 overall and 5-1-0 in the conference.

Houghton held a 6-2 advantage in total shots on goal in the match.

Malone will look to bounce back on Tuesday when the squad makes the short trip to North Canton for a 7:00 p.m. AMC contest against local rival Walsh University.
