Lauren Lindesmith enters her second season at the helm of the Malone University women's soccer program in 2019. She led the Pioneers to a 5-9-2 record during her first season in 2018, which included three double-overtime losses. She posted her first win in the team's home opener against West Liberty (9/4/18).

Lindesmith, who served as a full-time assistant on the Pioneer women's soccer coaching staff during the 2017 season, is a 2014 graduate of Walsh University.

Before joining the Malone staff, Lindesmith spent five years as a coach with Canton United Soccer Club.  Her coaching resume also includes experience with the Walsh women's soccer team and the Jackson Fury Soccer Club.

"I am very thankful to Malone University for giving me an opportunity to continue to serve at such a special place," noted Lindesmith. "It is very humbling to be a part of a family that uses athletics as an opportunity to display Christ in all that we do, both on and off the field. We have a wonderful group of girls that are ready to go to work and build upon the Pioneer tradition and I am eager to be a part of it. The potential that surrounds these athletes is boundless and I am looking forward to what is to come for the program."

In addition to her previous coaching experience, Lindesmith also spent two years as an Intervention Specialist at Green Local Schools and was named the district's "Rookie of the Year" in 2015-16.

Over the course of her collegiate playing career, Lindesmith appeared in 68 matches for the Cavaliers, tallying a total of 30 points and was twice voted to the All-Conference Team. Academically, Lindesmith was named to Walsh's Dean List on multiple occasions and was a three-time OCSA Academic All-Ohio selection.  She also served as the Cavaliers' team captain and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University.

"Lauren is an outstanding young leader with the drive, determination and passion to accomplish our goals for Malone Women's Soccer," commented Charlie Grimes.  "She truly loves not only the game, but also the process and patience required to build strong young women of faith through athletics. I look forward to seeing her challenge our students and support them in becoming the best they can be in all aspects of life."

Lindesmith is married to former Malone men's basketball player Jordan Lindesmith, who graduated from the University in 2012 and then went on to earn his master's degree in 2016.  The couple currently resides in Jackson Township.
