Grubb was announced as a swing coach for the Malone University women's golf team beginning in the 2026-27 season. Grubb has Malone roots as a graduate in 1990. His son Jordan and daughters Megan and Laurie played golf for the Pioneers. Grubb's wife, Tamara (Talkington), is also a Malone graduate with a degree in education.

Grubb brings a wealth of experience to the program. A retired teacher of Lake Local Schools, he remains the head boy's golf coach at Lake where he has been head coach since 2000. His teams have produced 11 Federal League Championships and six of those teams went on to compete at the Ohio High School Athletics Association (OHSAA) State Championships. Additionally, Grubb has led three individuals all the way to Columbus in state competition.

Grubb possesses outstanding character traits that will be a real asset to the program. He has tremendous leadership qualities and will be instrumental in practice planning, course management, psychology of coaching and recruitment as well. Grubb values relationships and has an extensive network around the state. He has organized and conducted numerous successful golf clinics including other major fundraising events that have supported team expenses beyond the school's budget.
