Malone University's sports information department has announced the hiring of Nate Koesel as a graduate assistant beginning in the 2024-25 season.

Koesel returns to Malone where he completed his bachelor degree in Business Management and Sport Management in 2021. Previously at Malone, he served the men's basketball team as the student manager from 2018-21 and was a member of the 2021 G-MAC Championship team. He also served as a member of the operations staff during the Pro Football Hall of Fame dual enshrinement "Greatest Gathering in Football" in 2021.

Since graduating, Nate has gained valuable experience working in various business fields including retail, wireless, and digital media. He has stayed actively involved with basketball earning professional certificates of completion from Sports Business Classroom, Sports Management Worldwide, and completing a NBA Collective Bargaining Agreement "Deep Dive" Mastery course. Nate has spent the last few years as a basketball scout and writer for multiple sports media companies including Between The Lines Sports, NXTPRO Hoops, and Sportsradar. 

"I've been blessed to build amazing relationships and stay around basketball and sports after graduating. This door opening for me to come back to work with the Malone Sports Information Department was completely the work of the Lord. I'm extremely excited to use my talents to bless and uplift every athletic program, coach, and athlete in the Malone community!" 

"We are excited as a department to be able to bring Nate on to join our team at Malone," Sports Information Director Matthew Kennell said. "His knowledge of sport and incredible work ethic will help to improve our department immensely."

Koesel will be earning his MBA with a concentration in Business and Data Analytics.
